Description of the problem	Windshield cracked without any impact from road debris while driving down the freeway at 65 to 70 mph in 70 degree clear weather on march 8, 2017. Crack started after a very loud noise, like a gun shot, at the upper edge of the windshield right at the roof line just above rearview mirror and expanded about 8 inches at a 60 degree angle then ran at 180 degree angle another 14 inches before heading back to the top lip of the windshield at a 90 degree angle. Professional body & glass repair shop could not find impact of any kind anywhere on the windshield appeared like a general stress fracture not associated with impact or excessive stress more like a flaw in the windshield structure. Truck had approximately 26,000 miles on odometer has never been used to tow nor has it been off road. Have windshield fractures not associated with impact been reported on other aluminum body ford pickups . We took possession of our truck in june of 2015. Our truck is a super crew cab 2 wheel drive 2. 7 liter v6 lariat model. Repair was a little over $500 not covered by insurance. These windshields have sound proofing material inside them according to the body shop and somewhat unusual.
