| Description of the problem | While driving in traffic, the engine abruptly cut to a rough idle and throttle became unresponsive. Warnings to service advancetrac and hill start assist popped up. I coasted to a stop, which was dangerous in traffic. I turned the engine off, then restarted twice and vehicle then behaved normally. The same problem recurred the following day. This is a repeat of a problem that occurred early in the life of the truck and that was fixed by the dealer under warranty by replacing the throttle body. This time i bought and replaced the throttle body myself and have fixed the problem. Loss of engine power in traffic is a dangerous event. The fact that this is the second failure of the throttle body in my vehicle suggests that the problem is not under control by the manufacturer. |
