| Description of the problem | Throttle body failure - 2015, f150 in motion, stopping for red light. Following red light truck had minimal power, just enough to limp to side of road. Thankfully not in atlanta, ga traffic but dayton, tn traffic. Turned vehicle off and restarted engine and drove 2 blocks to ford dealership "service department" where i purchased the new f150 xl 6 months earlier (12,000 miles). Told service manager wrench light appeared along with advance trac warning light. Service technicians unable to duplicate problem on computer or test drives. Even though they had seen the same problem before "ford motor company " would not allow them to repair it unless they were able to duplicate the problem. I contacted regional service manager for east tennessee, i stated to her this was not a local dealership problem, financial problem or was it a warranty problem (12k of 36k). This was a safety problem. Again she stated if they couldn't duplicate it by driving or computer diagnostic test they couldn't fix it. I also spoke to her superior he apologized but they cannot fix a problem they cannot duplicate. After threatening a to contact my lawyer, which did not phase her. I picked up my truck and was heading to another local dealership to trade it in, because ford said their was not a problem with it. When it "duplicated" the same problem within 15 minutes of leaving the dealership. It is now back at the dealership, after a technician was sent to hook up a computer while vehicle was running along side the road. Had to use road side assistance to get back. Will never purchase another ford. My belief after reading other post on this site ford does not care about customer satisfaction or safety. |
