| Description of the problem | While backing up the truck, the power steering went completely out. There were no previous signs of any trouble. This occurred at 53,000 miles. Several codes began to flash on the console such as power steering fault and check traction control, etc. After towing it to the dealership they later called and said the steering gear was bad. In order to replace it, it is necessary to have an alignment also which bring the cost to approx. $1600. If this had happened while driving on the highway i feel most certain i would have either run into someone or wrecked the vehicle. |
