| Description of the problem | I hit the button for the rear defrost, but it didnt light up. I had stopped at a gas station to get a drink and i was sitting in a parking stall with the truck running when i noticed smoke and smelled something hot. Shortly there after, about 5 seconds,i heard a loud bang, which sounded like a gunshot. I turned around and noticed that the rear window on the passenger side of this truck was shattered. I believe the problem to be created by the rear window defroster, that when the defroster isnt fully grounded, it causes the window to get too hot causing it to explode. But there is no way to know if the defroster is on or off because the light on the defroster was not on prior to me smelling the smoke and hearing the loud bang. |
