Description of the problem	While travelling on the highway, low brake fluid warning came on, and when exiting the highway the brake pedal went to the floor and i had very little braking efficacy. Fortunately, the highway exit was slightly uphill and the traffic light was green with vehicles starting to move and i was able to coast through the right turn at the green light. This occurred on the elgin-o'hare tollway (i-390) in hanover park, illinois where the elgin-o'hare (i-390) westbound meets lake street. My 6 year old son was travelling with me, and we are very fortunate to have had the situation work out in our favor. Had we been travelling home instead of away from home, the exit ramp we would have used was downhill and typically ends at a very busy intersection.
