Description of the problemMy vehicle experienced a sudden complete failure of one of the transmission cooler lines just before the quick disconnect. This occurred while driving under normal conditions and under acceleration. The failure was unexpected and allowed a large amount of hot trans oil to spray on the hot exhaust manifold and turbo charger on the r side of the engine. The amount of white smoke was enough to stop traffic behind me. Oil spray was noticeable on the entirety of my truck. Please note this is a major risk of fire happening. The volume of hot trans fluid combined with hot exhaust and the even hotter turbos could easily ignite. Online research has shown me that this is a very common failure on the f 150 trucks in this model year range. The fact that the dealer had all lines in stock tells me this is fairly common. Please note the attached picture is not my actual failed line but that of an identical failure to mine found on the internet.
