Description of the problem	Vehicle was in motion on the highway traveling at 65-70 mph. Speedometer stops functioning and indicates 0 mph. Odometer indicates a series of dashes "-------". The transmission speed remains at constant rpm regardless of pressure applied to throttle. Indicator for powertrain malfunction/reduced power/electronic throttle control momentarily appears. Driver applies pressure to throttle and hears the engine response, but there's no apparent response in the drivetrain. Drive coasts off highway and shifts from neutral back into drive. Is able to get back into a gear. Turning the vehicle off and restarting seems to correct the issue temporarily.
