Description of the problem	While driving on a highway at approximately 55mph, a transmission line apparently failed without warning due to rust through. The vehicle immediately started smoking due to the fluid contacting the exhaust. The truck started to hesitate and within seconds dropped to 15 mph. I was able to pull off of the highway without further incident. The vehicle has just over 72,000 miles. The dealer told me that this is a very common problem and ford will not warrant this issue. I was also told that this was so common, the replacement parts are on backorder through ford. The truck is still in the shop waiting on parts.
