| Description of the problem | My vehicle has approximately 86,000 miles. While accelerating truck shifts from 1st to 5th gear. I stopped the truck and turned the key off and back on, the truck ran fine after that. Problem accelerated to the point of the last incident, when while traveling at 65 mph the truck downshifted into a much lower gear nearly causing a major accident as i was in the far left lane of a very busy freeway. At this point we took the truck into port lavaca ford. They have had the necessary part on order for 3 weeks. We are told the part is on back order and some dealers in our area have been waiting for over a month for the part and it is still not available. I feel ford needs to address this issue and provide the necessary parts to customers in a timely manner. |
