Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford f-150. While driving 50 mph, the gear automatically shifted from fifth to first gear without warning. The failure caused the vehicle to lock up. The contact shifted the gear into neutral and then into manual. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and was able to drive in the automatic mode to the his residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (sands ford of red hill, 602 main st. (rt. 29), red hill, pa 18076) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.
