| Description of the problem | The engine light came on 3 times and my truck dropped speed to what ford calls "limp home mode" which is rough idle. When the truck is restarted, it runs fine. The ford dealership reported that my throttle box needed to be replaced for $388. The truck has 50,000 miles on it and out of warranty (not covered under power train). They also then told me i should do a fuse relocation because its a known problem with this vehicle but its not a recall. The total cost would be $750+ i guess i'll role the dice on the second part since its not a total failure yet. |
