| Description of the problem | 2012 ford f150 with ecoboost - driving back to ny from maine - hit rain in vermont - tried to pass a vehicle on highway - truck lost power - bogged down - stuttering along. Had to quickly pull over to slow lane to avoid having accident with vehicles coming up from behind - very dangerous situation. My daughter has the same truck she had same problem in july. In researching online have found this is a common occurrence with the ecoboost. Dealer was unaware that there have been any issues with this engine. My daughter found on ford forums and this site that ford issued the tsb 12-6-4 that is suppose to fix this problem. The dealer placed the shield on the intercooler and reset the computer - time will tell if this will work before someone gets killed. |
