| Description of the problem | While driving, i noticed that i was having to push on the accelerator harder to get power. I came to a stop at a stop sign and waited for an opening to turn left at the intersection. When i started to turn left, the truck started to accelerate and then the engine sounded like it revved up but there was no power or speed increase and a simply coasted out into the middle of the road. The traffic coming from the left was coming up over a hill and i was very lucky that they were able to stop before hitting me. The truck was able to pick up speed down hill, but lost speed quickly going up hill. I could see this being a dangerous issue when crossing a busy intersection or trying to pass. I took the truck to the dealership and was told the timing chain stretched. The truck had only 74000 miles. |
