| Description of the problem | The passenger air bag off light illuminates with a passenger in the seat. My wife weighs just under 100 lbs. And when she sits in the seat, with her butt all the way back and centered in the seat the light illuminates. As we travel the light sometimes goes off then a short while later it comes back on again. The dealer service dept. Tested the restraint control module and didn't find any codes. They road tested 2 miles with a passenger and declared the system is working as designed. The dealer service advisor witnessed the air bag off light illuminated. Their final word was, "we've done everything we can". In my view this is a safety issue. *js |
