Description of the problem	While on my regular commute to work as i drove onto the highway frontage road i slowly began to accelerate when suddenly my truck started accelerating on its own. So much so that i was no longer controlling its speed. Realizing this i had to apply both feet simultaneously on the brakes in order to slow the vehicle enough to put it in neutral then finally i was able put it in park. Unbelievably the engine was still running at high rpms even though it was in park. It wasn't until after i turned the engine off that the rpm's stopped. Immediately after this i saw smoke coming from both of the front wheel wells. As i got out of the truck i realized that both sets of brakes were on fire. This caused irreparable damage to the braking system as the components had become extremely overheated. The instance of the engine running high rpms also occurred the night before. However this time my wife was driving. We were in a parked position after fueling up the truck and were getting ready to leave the gas station. My wife just applied the brakes and put the truck back in park then the rpm's calmed down. We just kind of dismissed it until less than 12 hours later the above mentioned incident occurred. Coincidence i think not.
