| Description of the problem | Smelled gasoline odor inside vehicle after cranking on a cold day. I drove it for several miles. I parked it. I was in building for about 15 minutes. When i came out, i smelled gas outside vehicle. After leaving i then took vehicle to crossroads ford quicklane in cary nc. They found the plastic fuel line had split lenghtwise on top of fuel tank. They told me it was spraying gas. Part was apparantly defective. I am sure it could have caused a major fire or explosion because of being not far from exhaust pipe. Part replaced was 9l3z-9s278-b. I am wondering if there have been unexplained fires or explosions because of this. Repair cost was $569. 89 |
