Description of the problem	Truck steering "went out" and the power steering worked on and off. Found out is was lower steering shaft, i had just replaced a power steering hose, the problem was not solved. Anyway the new lower steering shaft did solve the problem (cost of over $320. 00 to me) but really at less than 70,000 miles, and a very conservative one man driver a family truck not business truck, not rough! The truck is parked outside and i did notice recalls further north due to cold and rough winters. I live in se michigan and perhaps that recall should head south a bit. Total spending was over 650. 00 dollars for both jobs. An f150 with big steering problems and big cost with less then 70,000, not anyone's idea of "built tough". I have been behind the wheel of many vehicles and traveled well over a million miles in over 50 years of driving and i never had to replace these parts. There is a concern here as when steering goes so does control of truck! Junk oem parts ????? Recall needed?? I think so................
