| Description of the problem | I brought my truck in to my local ford dealer because the check engine light came on. It is a 2006 f150 4. 6l - after his inspection, the mechanic stated that the bottom of the #2 spark plug (manufacture installed) had disintegrated and fell into the head causing so much damage to the #2 cylinder that i have to replace the entire engine at a cost of over $6,000 plus tax. It will take over a week to fix and i do not have another vehicle. I would like ford to reimburse me for the expense. I have written to their "customer care"( [xxx]) department, but have had no helpful or satisfactory results. This is a known issue as ford has issued a tsb and developed a tool to assist with the removal of faulty spark plugs. |
