| Description of the problem | While on a 700 mile trip, driving at night in heavy rain, i heard a loud pop on my driver's side door. I wasn't sure what it was, but everything seemed ok. After stopping at a gas station and closing my door, the window fell down into the door. What had happened was the window regulator's pulley had broke causing the metal wire to snap out and the window fall down. Fortunately, i had tools with me and was able to temporarily hold the window in place with a pair of vise-grips until i could get home and replace the window regulator track. My concern is what could have happened had my window fell down while driving at night in the heavy rain. I could have easily been distracted causing a momentary lose of control of the vehicle resulting in a collision. |
