| Description of the problem | 2 window regulators have broken causing the window to drop into the door and not roll up in my 2004 ford f150 pickup truck. First time happened in july 2008 (driver's side), and the second time (front passenger side) just happened on january 3, 2009. Both times while driving on interstate hwy while the windows were in the full up (closed) position. Both times i heard a loud boom or pop and then the window proceeded to slide down into the door. A mechanic at the dealer has unofficially admitted to me that this is extremely common with my make/model and year and that it was his opinion this was a defect. I was able to have a friend repair the driver's window in july, but have not been able to financially afford to repair the passenger side yet. |
