Description of the problem	Dt: last year owner's vehicle began having acceleration problems. The first time owner drove the vehicle at 35 mph and when he took foot off of accelerator and put in on the brakes vehicle surged forward like it wanted to go 70 mph. Then a week later, his wife was backing out of the driveway and left skid marks because the vehicle accelerated and she tried to stop it. The owner took vehicle to dealer last year. The first time mechanic called ford, and they could not advise what was causing the problem. On april 14, 2005 dealer replaced the throttle body, but this did not help. Yesterday the service manager spoke with an engineer from ford, stating that consumers accidentally pushed the gas pedal and the brake pedal at the same time. In the last four years owner has purchased four new fords, and none h had this problem. Sometimes the problem happened once a month. Sometimes it happened several times in a week. There was no warning when it happened. Owner was not aware of any results from diagnostic tests done by dealership. Owner was driving vehicle in an unsafe condition. *ak
