| Description of the problem | I purchased a ford f150 new in january of 2004. On many occasions, when attempting to merge into traffic, pass another vehicle, etc., the transmission feels like it slips into neutral. The engine speed increases but the vehicle does not accelerate. This has resulted in a few near-misses when i merged into freeway traffic and have nearly been hit by oncoming traffic. The service rep at my dealership says that he can't duplicate the problem. This is very annoying and very dangerous.*ak |
