| Description of the problem | Ford recommends changing the spark plugs on my 2004 f150 5. 4 3-valve at 100,000 miles. Mileage was getting close so i tried to change them. Unfortunately ford did not tell owners that there is a huge problem with the spark plugs breaking-off in the cylinder causing a massive repair bill. Engine had must be removed to take out broken plug. Ford did produce a tsb, but did not inform owners that this routine service should be done by dealer. Upon checking internet, there are scores of reports of the plugs breaking when both owners and dealers attempt the routine maintenance. |
