| Description of the problem | 2004 ford f-150. Consumer states airbag inadvertently deployed. *tgw the consumer stated he received a recall notice in may 2011 regarding inadvertent air bag deployment due to a manufacturing defect. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall work and was returned on may 20, 2011. However, on november 8, 2011 the air bag inadvertently deployed, when one of his employees started the vehicle. The employee suffered a minor injury to her wrist/hand. A ford field engineer inspected the vehicle on may 2, 2012 and found that a wiring problem caused the air bag to deploy. Ford offered the consumer $747. 00 which he had to pay the dealer in order to fix the vehicle, but only if the he signed a release. *jb |
