Description of the problem	We were driving in a heavy rain when the windshield wipers stopped. After tuning the control knob several times the wipers came on again but operated erratically, continued to run when the switch was turned off, not start when turned on, no intermittent operation. The windshield washer also did not work. If the wipers did stop when turned off they stayed up on the windshield obscuring the view. The next day the wipers were a little more reliable. After 4 days of being dry the wipers are working normally.
