| Description of the problem | For the last few days we have been having trouble getting the column shift to move. My wife put the truck in reverse according to the dial on the dash, however the truck would not move. Had to wiggle the shifter to get it to go into reverse. Today, the truck was parked on level ground with engine not running however the key was still in the ignition. Approx. 5 minutes later the truck rolled backward eventually going down a hill, knocking down a small tree, continued across a street, jumped the curb, through a yard and hit an enclosed car trailer. Extensive rearend damage and insurance/repair is in process. |
