| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph, the steering wheel became very stiff and the contact had to use extreme bodily force to turn the wheel. The vehicle was maneuvered to the shoulder and stopped. The contact examined the vehicle and noticed that the steering box was leaking. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the steering gear box was replaced. The failure recurred on an intermittent basis. The gear box was replaced approximately three times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 60,000. |
