| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge ram 2500. While driving approximately 45 mph, the steering wheel seized and excessive force was required to control the steering. The steering wheel became difficult to maneuver. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and the technician stated that the driver side tie rod ball stud on the service parts steering linkage was fractured. The technician informed the contact that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 13v528000 (steering); however, the dealer refused to perform the recall repair since the defective part was bolted in rather than clamped in on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. |
