| Description of the problem | I have a 2007 dodge ram 2500 mega cab diesel. I am the second owner and have had the truck for about 5 months. I have what is most commonly referred to as the "death wobble" or "death shake". I have taken the truck to dodge and paid to have them fix the problem only to be told there is nothing wrong with the truck. The truck is completely stock with the exception of the after market replacement shocks i had put on to hopefully fix the problem. The shocks did nothing to fix the violent shaking. Basically, when i get the truck up to around 60 mph and hit any small bump or pot hole or anything like that on the roadway the truck begins to shake violently and makes loud knocking noises. To get the shaking to stop i have to reduce my speed to around 30 to 35 mph. Obviously it is not safe to have to do this on a freeway or any other highway for that matter. It is a major safety issue and i am just waiting for the time when the truck causes me to crash. I bought the truck as a family vehicle and my wife won't even ride in it because it is that bad. I don't even like to put my children in the vehicle because of this issue. I explained all this to dodge and they directed my to this website saying that they could do nothing for me. I've done a lot of research and there are a lot of other dodge owners with the same issue. So much so that there are forums dedicated specifically to just this issue. I also found several videos on you tube where dodge owners have video taped their trucks doing the same thing. I know you tube probably isn't the type of website your agency likes to use for researching issues but it shows exactly what is going on. Some of the videos actually show how dodge owners with this problem have just left the dealership after paying to have replacement parts put on their trucks that they were told they needed only to have the same problem when they get back on the road. Being that dodge is unwilling to assist me in any way i would like to lodge a complaint. |
