Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2007 dodge ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the vehicle made a loud sound and suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The contact mentioned that after inspecting the vehicle he noticed that the front left tie rod had fractured. Also, the contact stated that he recently received recall nhtsa campaign number: 11v350000 (steering) which he believed was a band aid to the problem since the entire front end of the vehicle had to be repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the steering box, bolt joints, both tie rod ends, and drive links needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offered any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 37,000 and the current mileage was 52,000. |
