Description of the problem	The windshield wipers failed completely while driving at night on interstate 77 in the rain at approx. 10 pm. The wipers started slowing down and stopped completely in less than a minute. Despite heavy truck traffic i was very fortunate to get my vehicle safely off the interstate at an exit just south of charleston, wv. The experience was terrifying. I took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who told me that the wiper motor had burned out and also burned out the electrical power management module. This vehicle has no fuses or relays to protect this system. The total repair cost was $1260. This is inexcusable. The wipers are an important safety feature of the vehicle and should not fail during the normal life of the vehicle. The cost to repair was ridiculous. The wiper motor was less than $200 but the power management module was over $800. This is an exceptionally poorly designed system.
