Description of the problem	While parked after a short drive, the driver's door lock actuator failed in an unsafe mode (locked). Failure mode caused door to remain locked despite key turn effort to unlock. In addition, the door cannot be unlocked by lifting the manual lock control near the driver's left elbow. This single point of failure resulted in no way to enter the vehicle since there is not a key access to the right front door. A keyless entry system option mitigates the risk, but is not always installed. If an injured person or small child was inside the vehicle and unable to actuate the door handle from inside, it would not be possible for them to be helped in their egress from outside. This failure mode is so common that there are youtube videos on the part replacement. Ignoring the safety implication of this high frequency single point of failure is unconscionable on the part of the manufacturer.
