| Description of the problem | A few years ago the dash started cracking. The dash is made of a hard plastic about 1/4" thick. The cracks generally run from front to back not sideways. I kept thinking if i was to have a car accident those cracks and shards of thick plastic would severly cut me up. Last summer i duct taped all the cracks. Just recently i took the truck in for air bag recall, now the dash is in worse shape. They told me at the dealer (lithium dodge of bryan, texas) that doing the recall more cracking would occur. They said most dodge trucks have this cracking dash problem. My other cars and trucks which are much older dont have this problem. I think dodge should replace the dash. I would not have done the recall if i had known they would make the dash cracking much worse. |
