Description of the problem	The fuel pump on my dodge diesel failed on me while driving with my wife and 2 month old daughter during one of the worst snow/ice storms of the season. We were in rural central missouri about 7 miles from the nearest town. Fortunately we were in an area where we had cell phone service and were able to call a friend to come and get us. What makes me furious is that i later found out this type of malfunction is very common and dodge has actually discontinued the original under hood fuel pump because of it's poor history and i had to pay almost $900 to have an in tank fuel pump installed. I feel this should be a recall item because i don't feel i should have to pay for their poor engineering.
