| Description of the problem | I took my truck in for an oil change and to have the air bag light that was coming on intermittently. After the diagnoses was done i was informed that the clock spring was broken. I asked what this spring controlled and was informed of a variety of things including the air bag system. I asked if the air bags would deploy if i was to get into an accident and was told no they wouldn't. So i had it repaired at a cost of almost $400. 00. After talking to other people i found out that this was a common problem with a variety of vehicles. I thinking that there should be a look into these clock springs. It sounds like this is a common item that fails. |
