| Description of the problem | I noticed the paint puckering above the rear wheel well on the driver side last fall. Over the winter, the puckers gave way and severe rusting is visible the full length of the wheel well from the base to about 6 inches above the wheel well. Today i noticed the same thing happening on the passenger side. I have been informed that the metal has rusted out and both side inner and outer panels need to be replaced. The truck is kept clean and waxed, and has not been submerged in water nor exposed to salt water as it is used to commute on inland interstate highways almost exclusively. I noticed that other owners of this vehicle are having similar issues with the paint in this area. Is this a defect in the metal, paint, or welds that cause this problem. . |
