| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle lost power without warning. The contact pulled the vehicle over, looked under the vehicle, and noticed that the driveshaft was on the ground. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rear axle pinion nut detached and damaged the universal joint and transfer case. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. |
