| Description of the problem | For more than 1 year, the tachometer in my dodge ram has functioned intermittently. On 3/25/15 i noticed that the driver-side low-beam headlight bulb was out. I replaced the bulb without effect. My mechanic diagnosed the tipm module as the culprit for both the headlight and tachometer failure. He will replace the module, at a cost of roughly $1000, when a replacement can be obtained. It is estimated that it will be at least 4 weeks from the time of diagnosis before that replacement tipm will be available. In the meantime, i must drive my truck with only one headlight and then i will have to pay more than $1000 to have this repaired. |
