Description of the problem	I was in an accident on feb 11 at 7:00 am. I went off the road to the right taking out a mailbox, a couple of trees, side swiped a telephone pole before coming to rest up against a tree. When the truck finally came to a rest against a tree, the airbag did not deploy, because of the final impact of the tree i was hit the steering wheel hard enough to bend it. The mounting of the airbag sensors are mounted on a frame rail which has rubber mount from the brace to the frame which would absorb the most of the impact. From a closer inspection of the impact zone i noticed the frame mount was bent where the mount was bolted. I was told by an inspector, that came out to look at my truck for the airbags, the insurance companies are putting pressure on the auto makers which make it harder for the airbags to deploy. It all comes down to insurance companies paying less on claims at our safety. The sensors were designed to help and did at one time but if you keep listening to outside sources instead of the consumer your creditability will be ruined. I am actually scared for my family to ride in this truck, knowing that the srs is not as safe as i was led to believe. The sensors need to be in a more solid position. Rubber mounts absorb more of the impact than it should have needed to.
