| Description of the problem | Just picked vehicle from dealership for rebuild of rear end from recall p77. Drove vehicle three miles and felt a vibration then saw large amount of smoke. Pulled over and saw what appeared was grease or oil leaking onto exhaust. Called dealership to inform something was wrong. Upon my return and delivering vehicle to service i was informed that the transfer case had exploded. Dealership claimed had nothing to do with recall, however i find several cases of this same issue occurring due to differential failure. |
