Description of the problem	Performing scheduled maintenance on a 2002 dodge ram 1500 a wet spot was located on a crimped fitting portion of the front brake hoss. Further investigation by lightly pressing and pushing on the affected area resulted in a total breakage and failure of the assembly. The failure is when the crimped steel portion of the connection breaks due to severe rust/corrosion on the affected area. Consequences of the failure could include a loss of braking effort resulting in a crash or loss of control of the vehicle due to its severely compromised ability to come to a complete stop when needed. The repair to correct the failure included replacing both front brake hoses, all associated hardware and bleeding the brake system. The failed parts were saved for documentation purposes.
