| Description of the problem | While driving at a steady speed of about 25 mph, the transmission suddenly dropped to low gear reading '1' on the console. The engine raced. Later in the day this time at 35 mph the car did the same thing. Both instances caused car to shudder scared the driver. To get it back working right, she found she had to get off the road to put it into neutral, then back into gear. This creates a hazardous condition when moving in the flow of traffic. After this, the car was taken to a transmission shop for service. The shop was not able to duplicate the problem and no error codes were present. The shop recommended updating the flash memory in the transmission control module. This was done on 6/6/18 at the burlington dodge dealer. |
