| Description of the problem | Power door locks stopped working. I found articles online to disconnect battery and reconnect at which time the issue went away. After a week or so the locks stopped working again. I went to the dealer and they informed me that i needed to microcode update to correct the issue. Since my mileage was above 36k there was a $175 fee. I refused to pay it since the car was under 3 years old and it was a computer issue. I contacted dodge and they refused to waive the fee. The car is now 8 years old and dodge has not released the updated microcode to any service companies and only allows dealerships to update the microcode where most will upgrade for free. I believe this is done intentionally to charge current dodge owners for poor engineering. |
