Description of the problem	Almost total loss of braking ability. Brakes also wear out too fast. The minivan has only 35000 miles and just had the second set of pads at 31000 miles. Yesterday while driving in the mountains the brakes over heated and almost caught fire (a lot of smoke). I was staying off the brakes as much as possible and in 3rd gear not od. I have never had this problem with other vehicles. I was able to use a long turnout to slow down in and stop after smelling the brakes overheating.
