| Description of the problem | 2005 dodge grand caravan automatic door locks no event leading to failure. Randomly the door locks just quit working. More concerning is that the 19mph locking mechanism for the door locks will not work and the door lock switch quits working as well, leaving the rear doors unlocked while driving. There is no way to lock the rear doors from the exterior and short of crawling to the back over the front seats my children are in a car able to open the doors. This certainly has to be a safety issue. Researching online, there appears to be numerous complaints with this issue and a varied amount of suggested fixes. Dodge dealership desires to update the computer at a cost to me but, after reading the online complaints, this does not appear to be a fix. |
