| Description of the problem | I have a 2005 dodge caravan, purchased new. It has 64000 miles and has never been in a collision and has never had the airbags deployed. The airbag light has come on and will not go off. There was a recall in may 2007, but the dealer states that my vin number is not included. We live in western ny where road salt has been heavily used, which has been identified as part of the cause of this problem. The dealer stated to me that it would cost me $94. 00 to get a diagnostic test and then an additional $250. 00 to fix it. I don't understand why i should have to pay for this repair when 2005 dodge caravans in 27 states have been recalled and fixed free. My vehicle fits all the criteria for this recall except for the vin number. What recourse do i have in this? |
