Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2017 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that after driving for 4 hours at 55 mph, the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard with an abnormal grinding sound. The service brake assist warning message was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact engaged the parking brake to stop the vehicle while driving up an incline. The next day, the brakes resumed normal operation on the drive home. The contact stated that since the failure, he had experienced intermittent brake failure while traveling at various speeds, with the same warning light flashing on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to titus-will chevrolet buick gmc cadillac (2425 carriage loop sw, olympia, wa 98502) and it was confirmed that the failure was caused by a defective vacuum pump. The vacuum pump was replaced however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it remained in their possession unrepaired. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,300.
