| Description of the problem | 2006 chevrolet tahoe z71. Rear liftgate fails to unlock. Keyring and door panel buttons unlock all doors, but rear liftgate remains locked. There is no key hole access on the outside of the liftgate and there is no manual lock release in the vehicle. Liftgate panels had to be removed from the inside of the vehicle in order to access the locking mechanism and move the lock to disengage and open the liftgate. Further inspection and testing showed that locking motor works to lock the liftgate but the mechanism fails to align properly when attempting to unlock, preventing mechanism from disengaging. |
