| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet tahoe. The contact stated that the lift gate failed. As a result, whenever the contact attempted to open the lift gate it would not lock in place. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who decided to grease the latch and the lift gate finally locked. The failure recurred and the vehicle was not repaired again. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included on any recalls. The failure mileage was 94,000.
